The Health Department has the responsibility for the protection for public health. In addition, provides information on individual and community health as well as what services are available to area residents.

Nursing Home Ombudsmen are advocates for residents of nursing homes, board and care homes, assisted living facilities, and similar adult care facilities. Ombudsmen can provide information on how to find a facility and what to do to get quality care.
